Hilary Becker, PhD (Havana), MBA, BSc (Biology), CPA, CGA, is an Associate Professor of Accounting at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, with 30-years teaching experience in Strategic Management and Performance Management at the undergraduate, MBA and PhD levels, as well as professional and executive programs in Canada, Caribbean, South America, Middle East, and China.
Hilary has consulted and researched with profit, not-for-profit and governmental organizations. His research has been published in book chapters, academic journals and he has authored courses for CGA Canada (Advanced Management Accounting) and SME (Strategy and Governance) for CPA Canada. His research focuses on performance management and Blue Ocean Strategy (certified by INSEAD), as well as the Caribbean, including economic development and tourism. Hilary is a member of the Caribbean Tourism Research Network (CTRN).
